Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

31st August 2007

At 16:52 on this workday late afternoon, NWAS (GMA) paged the team regarding assistance with an incident at Seven Acres Country Park, Bolton, where a 56 year old male had a reported leg injury.

A full team pager call with incident details was made at 16:57 with our first member arriving on scene an amazing 3 minutes as he lives almost opposite the scene.

At 17:10 the North West Air Ambulance, Helimed 08, managed to land almost next to the casualty with our first responding Landrover Ambulances arriving on scene at 17:14 and 17:19.

The injured male who had a fractured leg was airlifted direct from the scene a short 300 metre hop to the nearby car park and with assistance from some team members was “hot” unloaded from the still running helicopter, then was stretcher transferred the short distance from Helimed 08 to the NWAS Emergency Ambulance.

The ambulance departed the scene at 17:38 with the casualty en-route to Royal Bolton A&E.
