Throughout the morning our Team Leader Garry Rhodes was in contact with GMP regards the continuing Police efforts to locate the missing man from the previous incident.
The team was again requested to assist GMP resources, and we assembled early evening at a new Search RVP, this time near to the Montcliffe Quarries complex on Georges Lane, Horwich.
Search control on Georges Lane
Again help was requested from colleague search and rescue teams.
The rain thankfully stopped (but only for a while, the packing away at the evening’s end was an horrendous experience in torrential rain and nil vis mist)
The sun sets on the searchers but the weather is yet to come in…
Now late at night, the Aireshelta provides a welcome haven for some team members
Bolton Team members assembled for an 18:15 start, joining Police resources already active.
A search review saw some areas repeated in retask operations, and new search areas added to the overall search area coverage, all still centred around the Wilderswood / Montcliffe and Bottom O’ th’ Moor areas.
Again, sadly, the very intensive search operation drew a complete blank, and was scaled down prior to midnight, with Police enquiries once more continuing.
The following resources were deployed on the evening of today:
- Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, 28x Call Out list members and 1x Support Group member.
- Cheshire Lowland Search and Rescue Team, 12x members.
- Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team, 12x members.
- Greater Manchester Police, Divisional Officers, Missing Person Search Managers, 2x Police General Purpose Dog Teams and a Tactical Aid Unit Team.
As with the previous days search, Our Team provided full Control, Communications and Catering facilities, whilst coordinating and controlling the direction and content of the search in a joint operation between our Leaders and Police Missing Person Search Managers.
This time most of us got to bed by 01:00 in the morning, another long day.
