Whilst in attendance at GMFRS Horwich Fire Station Open Day, four team members in a team Landrover Ambulance were requested directly by NWAS GMA Paramedic Emergency Control to attend a nearby road traffic collision, to which a NWAS GMA Emergency Ambulance had also been despatched to.
Occurring shortly after 14:45, the four were very quickly on the scene of the incident involving an injured motorcyclist.
Fortunately for the injured motorcyclist, two passing off duty Accident and Emergency Doctors rendered immediate aid prior to the teams arrival, and then joined in with the team members to continue his care and treatment upto the arrival of the NWAS Ambulance.
He was treated for possible chest, collar bone and C-Spine injuries, and taken to Royal Bolton Hospital by NWAS.
