At 19.48hrs this evening, a Greater Manchester Police Missing Person Search Manager contacted our Team Leader regards the teams assistance in the search for a missing vulnerable Lowton (Golborne, Wigan) man.
With team members already assembling at this time to take part in our weekly Wednesday evening exercise, (being held tonight at Roddlesworth) they were paged to reassemble at our Ladybridge Hall base whilst our Team Leader liaised with GMP regards further details.
In very heavy rain, GMP Officers and Police Community Support Officers had already commenced a search of the areas immediately around the missing 34 year olds home address, and out towards the Pennington Flash Country Park area.
Members, await devolpments before deploying into their search areas.
34 Bolton MRT members responded, inluding our Control Trailer and Catering Trailer, to support the increasing search operation, which became centred from our involvement on the Lowton Common and Lowton Meadows area of Golborne, Wigan.
In conditions of very heavy rain and completely sodden ground conditions the search was never going to be easy, particularly as it was nightime as well, so the news that the missing man had returned safely to his home address at 23.28hrs was well received by our team members, who were stood down with the operation concluding at 00.30hrs on the morning of thursday 17th May.
