Over recent times the Team has had every reason to be very grateful to Jim Fletcher, who runs the ’Shed’ at Belthorn, Darwen, this being a meeting place in Belthorn Village where you can drop in for a drink, chat and even indulge in some of Jims home made Jams. The ’Shed’ caters for Birthdays and private functions on a regular basis, and a while ago Jim asked if he could collect funds for the team from his regulars and those at such functions.
Jims first collection for us raised £450.00, quickly followed by a 2nd collection raising £500.00.
Today we received the fantastic news that Jim has surpassed all his previous amounts raised for us by all the people who kindly donate to our cause at the ’Shed’ including of course Jim, when Jim handed over a third collection amount, this time for £562.27.
The Team is proud of its relationship with Jim and the ’Shed’ at Belthorn, and has sent vehicles and team members to events in the village, including the Village Play ground opening and the Village Fete Day this summer.
Jim and his wife were guests at our recent Sea King helicopter training exercise held at Rivington, where they were able to see the team in action.
Jim also contributes to other charitable causes, including the North West Air Ambulance, in fact thats where his next collection is going to !
Keep up the good work Jim, thanks to all who use the ’Shed’ and so readily support us, and a huge thanks for your continued support and interest in everything we do.
