At 14.01 Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service paged us for assistance with an incident they had responded to involving a female who had fallen down a 20 feet embankment at Clifton Country Park, overlooking the River Irwell. We were asked to RV at Rake Lane in the vicinity of the (Pilkingtons) Tile factory, and meet up with the responding Fire crews engaged in the rescue operation.
22 team members and at least one team vehicle were responding when our Team Leader was contacted by fire Control to stand down the team, as our services were no longer required, the responding fire crews having got he woman safely back to the top of the slope, and into the care of GMAS. The team was therefore paged to stand down.
