Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

1st March 2006

At 17:22 GMAS contacted our Team Leader direct, for assistance with a 62 year old male casualty in Standish Park, Standish Lower Ground, Wigan. Our emergency response was hampered by team members having to make their way through heavy rush hour traffic to initially crew our vehicles. Nonetheless, 8 team members arrived quickly on scene in an area which is at the extreme North-Western part of our team’s operational area.

Our Deputy Leader was first on scene, and by utilising his 4×4 private vehicle was able to gain access to the casualty site and assist the GMAS Ambulance crew on scene by transporting the male casualty, who had suffered a fractured right ankle, to the ambulance at the roadhead.

11 other team members were stood down whilst responding to this incident.
