The team was contacted at 14:56 by Lancashire Constabulary to provide assistance to LAS with the report of a young boy suffering a head injury, following a fall whilst with his family on the edge of the moors above Rivington.
Three team members out walking in the immediate area were very quickly directed to the scene, arriving some ten minutes after the call out. Two team Landrovers with five other team members also quickly responded. Team members rendered immediate Casualty Care whereupon the NWAA Helimed 08 Air Ambulance arrived on scene and landed close to the Pigeon Tower incident location, on the edge of Rivington Terraced Gardens at 15:11.

The young boy, aged seven, was airlifted down the hillside by Helimed 08 to the waiting LAS Emergency Ambulance at Lower House Car Park, where another team member was on hand to liaise with the ambulance crew and assist with the marshalling of Helimed 08.
The young boy was transferred to Royal Preston Hospital by Ambulance along with his mother, whilst team members brought the boy’s father and sister down from the tops in a Team Landrover to pick up their car at one of the many local car parks.
As usual a quick efficient rescue, made all the quicker by the coincidence of three team members out walking in the local area.
