Every year we help Belmont Primary School with their annual charity ‘sponsored walk,’ having been the charity beneficiary ourselves one year.
We try to have at least one team member walking with those taking part and team vehicles in the ‘background’ providing additional support and help should it be needed.
Following our assistance at this years walk on Sunday 23rd June 2013, Team Call Out list member Dave Cook (Who this year walked the route) received the following very kind letter from Judith Peel, Headteacher at Belmont Primary School, Ryecroft Lane, Belmont;
“Dear David, On behalf of the parents and pupils of Belmont Primary school, I would like to say a huge thank you to both you and your fellow members of the Mountain Rescue for your support on our sponsored walk up Winter Hill on Sunday 23rd June.”
“Given the poor weather conditions, I would have had to cancel the walk on this occasion, were it not for the sound advice you gave me from early in the morning, and the additional members and vehicle which Mountain Rescue provided to guide us across the top of the hill.”
“As a result over ninety children, families and staff were able to complete the charity walk successfully.”
The team is very happy to continue to provide its help and assistance to Belmont Primary School for its annual charity sponsored walk, fingers crossed for better weather in 2014!
