Further to our provision of Standby Rescue Cover for the Rotary Club of Darwen Annual Darwen Tower Charity Trudge on Sunday 2nd June 2013, (See Website ‘News’ report dated the same) today we can report on the following kind email received by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE from Gil Riley, Secretary of the Rotary Club of Darwen
“Thank you for the support that your team provided at the Tower Trudge earlier this month. Their reassuring presence was greatly appreciated both by those of us organising the event and by the participants.
There were 110 walkers registered and the sponsorship raised for local and national charities together with several youth groups was well over £3.000.00.”
“As a high number of walkers opted for a shorter route, we will be considering the format for next year. The provisional date will be Sunday 1st June 2014. Gil Riley, Secretary, Rotary Club of Darwen.”
We are very happy to provide such Standby Rescue Cover for our valued friends at Darwen Rotary Club, and we are expecting a visit to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ soon by the Darwen Rotarians.
