Held at the request of East Cheshire Group of the Rambler’s Association, the team put on this evening an “Introduction to Mountain First Aid” training seminar.
The seminar was specifically designed to give the 20 East Cheshire members attending an insight into how to apply standard, basic first aid techniques in the outdoors and closely mirrored the guidelines published by the MRC of England & Wales.
Instruction was ably provided by team members Alistair Greenough, a very experienced A&E nurse at Warrington Hospital, and Pete McKale, an Technician Paramedic with GMAS, both being assisted by other team members.
The East Cheshire Group members all stated that they benefitted greatly from the intensive evening seminar and all felt confident in their newfound knowledge.
Besides a £100 cheque donation to the team from the group, the team was doubly surprised to receive on the night individual donations from group members attending to the total of £110.
The team wishes all group members safe rambling, hill walking, and mountaineering secure in the knowledge that they can now carry out first aid in the outdoors should it ever be required.
