At 11:53 the team was requested to attend an incident at Pendlebury’s Farm, off Longshaw Fold Rd, Smithills, with the report of a horse rider injured, with a GMAS Ambulance and Helimed 08 en route. A very quick response was made by 12 team members at our Ladybridge Base, with 4 team vehicles arriving on scene at 12:05. The person involved was already in the GMAS vehicle and the team was stood down on scene (Helimed 08 was stood down en route). The incident actually involved a pony & trap combination, the driver apparently having come unseated and been dragged along by the pony, suffering numerous cuts to his face and body.
