At 23:25 hours, very late this evening, the team was contacted for its immediate assistance with regards to a 6 year old child missing from home in the Heaton Park area of Prestwich. Given the vulnerability of a young child missing at such a late time, GMP called out ourselves, Oldham MRT and the Rossendale & Pendle MRT.

The young boy had reportedly been last seen at 18:30 hours in the vicinity of his home address near the St. Margaret’s Rd entrance to the vast open parkland of Heaton Park itself and was reported missing to Police around 21:15 hours. A major Police search operation was quickly springing into action including GMP’s airbourne assets when the good news came in that the young boy had been located safe & well. At 23:48 a full team stand down was paged, at which time a large number of team members were available to make an immediate search response.
