Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

26th June 2013

At 14.43hrs this afternoon, NWAS (Manchester) EOC Parkway paged the team for assistance with the report of an incident on the moors above Horwich.

Answered by our Call Out Contact Mike Marsh, the call was in response to a 999 call to NWAS concerning a young female walker, with an ankle injury.

As Mike was gathering further information from NWAS (The female was apparently in a youth group under instruction) it became apparent to NWAS that the injury was not as serious as first reported, and the caller informed NWAS that an Ambulance was no longer required.

At this stage a small number of team members were already mobilising to this incident.

By 14.47hrs our response was put on hold by NWAS, and by 15.00hrs it was confirmed by pager that the NWAS response and the need for MRT assistance was stood down as no longer being required.

This request for the teams services is recorded here for the information and interest of our readers and does not feature in our ‘Incident Listings.’
