At 09.35 Hrs the Team Leader was contacted by a GMP Missing Person Search Manager, who requested the morning return of the team with a continuation of the search for a missing 91 year old man in the Jumbles Country Park area (see incident 13/2005). Our DTL Geoff Seddon attended a Police briefing and it was decided in view of the team’s intensive overnight search effort that the search should now be moved to the reservoir area itself. In advance of the Police Underwater Search Unit becoming available, 2 team members who are qualified White Water Kayakers, carried out a water surface search of the reservoir margins and inlet streams, supported by 3 team members on the bankside. This search was inconclusive.

Sadly, mid-evening, on this day, the man’s body was located in the reservoir by the Police Underwater Search Unit.
