Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

13th June 2013

This evening, at the specific request of our very dear and valued friends at Flixton Dog Training Club, our Team Training Officer Dave Marsh was invited to their weekly meeting to discuss some of his experiences as a Dog Handler in our team.

Dave Marsh for a great many years operated as a fully graded SARDA (England) Air Scenting Mountain Rescue Dog Handler with his (Sadly now passed away) Search Dog Chi.

Dave and Chi had many successful operational finds whilst with Bolton MRT, and they both travelled widely the length and breadth of this country on operational searches and the very regular and necessary continuation training exercises.

Dave has also worked alongside GMP Dog Units and GMFRS USAR and Fire Investigation Dogs, alongside his training advisory role at one time with SARDA and his continuing work with NSARDA.

Currently Dave is in the final stages of training with his latest dog Sasha, to become a Drowned Victim Search Dog Team.

Of course Dave also made mention of his long standing experiences as an operational Call Out list member with Bolton MRT, from when he first joined the Bolton MRT in the 1970’s. (Yes he really is that old!) right up to his still very active service nowadays.

At the end of Dave’s visit, he was honoured to receive on behalf of the team yet another very kind and generous, supportive donation of £230.00 to the Bolton MRT.

The entire Bolton MRT membership wishes to extend its sincere thanks to all at Flixton Dog Training Club for this fantastic and very kind, much appreciated latest donation.
