Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

13th June 2013

Last night at our teams regular post weekly Wednesday night watering hole of the Bobs Smithy Public House on Chorley Old Road, Heaton, our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE met up with long term very valued friend and supporter of the team, Councillor John Walsh OBE, a respected former Mayor Of Bolton.

John as ever enquired about the team, and asked if he could renew old friendships with a visit to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to see some of the many changes since he last visited us.

John was in the company of the Reverend Matt Thompson, Vicar at Bolton Parish Church and in conversation with Garry, Matt learnt that we have yet to arrange our formal Dedication and Blessing Evening for our new in service Incident Control Vehicle / BM6.

The Reverend Matt Thompson very kindly, subject of course to his availability, readily agreed to attend and to bless our new incident Control Vehicle as and when we arrange the formal evening.

Garry both agreed to arrange to meet John for his tour, and also took up Matt’s very kind offer to provide the blessing.

Valued friends old and new, without such we would not be the successful team that we are.
