Today, starting at noon, the team provided full standby rescue cover for the fell run section of the Darwen Leisure Centre Aquathon.

This event organised by Blackburn with Darwen Council, had as its fell run section a route from the Sunnyhurst Inn up onto Darwen Moor and return, with a race duration of circa one hour.
59x runners took part in this steep hillside ascent and descent event.

Thirteen of our team callout list members attended today in all four of our Team Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances.

The team would like to thank our long-time friend and supporter Matt Donnolley for inviting us to provide cover for this event.

Matt emailed our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE this evening with the following very kind comment;
