Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

23rd September 2013

Our readers will recall that on Thursday 19th September 2013, we attended the NWAS NHS Trust Annual General Meeting and Health Fair at Preston. (Please see ‘News’ report dated the same)

Today our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE received the following letter from Bob Williams, Acting Chief Executive of NWAS NHS Trust, sent to all participating organisations at the event;

“Dear Colleague, Annual General Meeting and Health Fair 2013.”

“I am writing to thank you on behalf of the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust for your contribution to the success of this year’s AGM and Health Fair held at Preston North End Football Club on Thursday 19 September.

It was an enjoyable day which showcased many of the Trust’s campaigns and services it provides along with fantastic displays and information from our emergency, NHS, volunteer and other partners. Members of the public also enjoyed the opportunity to look around a display of emergency and non-emergency ambulance vehicles as well as vehicles from our partner emergency services, the Highways agency, Mountain Rescue and St John Ambulance.

We had the pleasure of the Mayor of Preston, Councillor Veronica Afrin, open the event for us whom I am sure many of you got the opportunity to meet.

We estimate around 300 people attended the event and feedback has been very positive with a lot of good contacts and interests established, particularly with the local community of Preston. In addition, many people expressed a keen interest in finding out more about NWAS and how they can get involved with the work of the Trust.

The contribution of your valuable time and resources was very much appreciated.
I am sure all that attended left with a positive impression of the ambulance service and its partners, thank you once again for your generous help in achieving this.”

“Yours sincerely,
Bob Williams,
Acting Chief Executive.”

We also received the following kind email comment the same day from Andi Vine, NWAS NHS Trust Communications Officer

“Further to your attendance at the North West Ambulance Service’s AGM and Health Fair last week, please find attached an official thank you letter sent on behalf of our Acting Chief Executive, Bob Williams.”

“Thank you also from a personal point of view – As the person who was responsible for organising external partners exhibitor stands and vehicles, you all made my job slightly easier. Thanks again for your attendance, we really did appreciate it.”

“Kind regards,
Andi Vine,
Communications Officer.”
