Early this evening a small number of team members attended Horwich Leisure Centre to meet with representatives of Horwich Festival of Racing and Lostock Athletics Club to receive two very wonderful and kind donations.

Attending were our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, Naomi Horan, Matthew Hailwood, Gillian Leigh, Equipment Officer (Stretchers and Ropes) Nick Berry and Trainee team member Martin Battersby.

Firstly they met with valued team friends and supporters, Horwich Festival of Racing President Barbara Ronson, Chairman Neil Brown and Running Races Organiser John Smith who jointly handed over to the team members present a very kind major donation of £600.00 further to our involvement in providing standby casualty care cover for this years Sunday 16th June all day Horwich Festival of Racing event.

John Smith, then wearing his other ‘hat’ as Chairman of Lostock Athletics Club, in front of a very large number of Lostock AC members (Who were assembled ready for their evenings run) then handed over to the team a wonderful donation of £200.00 as thanks for our provision of standby rescue cover for their annual Hendersons End Fell Race, held this year on Thursday evening, 6th June.

The entire team membership wishes to extend its fullest thanks to all associated with the Horwich Festival of Racing and Lostock Athletics Club for their absolutely fantastic and very valued continuing support of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.
