Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

26th November 2013

Early this morning our Team Equipment Officer (Water) John Fletcher, who is also a member of our integral ‘water team,’ (And a White Water Raft Guide and SRT) journeyed in our BM3 vehicle to Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Hornby Fire Station to take a part in ‘Exercise Wenning,’ a LFRS Forward Mobilising Procedure exercise based upon a flooding scenario in the area of the River Lune.

Resources present at this exercise which had mobilising and communications as its content, included multiple LFRS assets, Officers from Lancashire Constabulary, NWAS (Lancashire and Cumbria Area), NWAS HART Merseyside and Lancaster City Council amongst other assets.

Being within the primary operational area of our colleagues at Bowland Pennine MRT, they attended at both a Bronze and Silver Command Level, with a number of personnel (Including their specialist integral water team members) and vehicles including their Incident Control Vehicle.

A more detailed report on this exercise will be submitted here soon.
