Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

24th November 2013

This weekend has seen all three of our operational and trainee search dog handlers in training.

Our Mountain Rescue Trailing Dog Handler Steve Nelson, a member of SARDA (Wales) with his Mountain Rescue Trailing Search Dog Boris, has been on the scheduled monthly training weekend of SARDA (Wales) from last Thursday 21st November, through to this afternoon, based near Caernarfon.

Steve was joined by his regular ‘navigator’ Bolton MRT member Elaine Gilliland, who acted as an ‘exercise body’ throughout the weekend, for the other search dogs present to find.

Also present was our Training Officer Dave Marsh, a former Mountain Rescue Air Scenting Search Dog Handler and currently training a Drowned Victim Search Dog (Sasha)

Dave was on this weekend assisting with the search dog assessments taking place.
Meanwhile this morning, our Trainee Air Scenting Search Dog Handler Paul Chisholm, and his dog Bella, were taking part in air scenting search dog training in Todmorden, alongside search dogs from that area.
