Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

20th November 2013

This evening whilst returning from the Sale Water Park search incident in our Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance Vehicle BM4, team members Michael Wakerley and John Dickinson noticed a car apparently broken down, and driverless, on the side of the busy A666 St Peters Way, Bolton.

Pulling in the fuel station at the end of St Peters Way, they enquired of a man with a fuel can if it was his vehicle, which it was.

Michael and John’s offer to the man to drive him back to his car to avoid a walk on the side of the dangerous carriageway of the A666 was taken up.

They parked to ‘protect’ his car whilst he refuelled, and before going on his way the man involved very kindly made an impromptu £20.00 cash donation to the work of the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team.

As we have no name or address to send our usual thanks to, other than the man lives in Egerton, we are expressing our sincere thanks to this man for this thoughtful donation via our website pages.
