Late this afternoon, very long serving and very experienced Bolton MRT team member Mike Marsh journeyed north to take part as a ‘mentor’ on this years MREW National Mountain Rescue Party Leader Training Course, being held over this weekend at Wathgill Training Camp, near Catterick.
This year this annual course is being facilitated and organised by Swaledale MRT, attracting a wide participation from mountain rescuers throughout the country keen to improve their mountain rescue ‘Party Leadership’ skills.
Mike is no stranger to these Party Leader Training Courses, having originally many years ago instructed on a number of the MPSRO Party Leader weekend residential training courses which formed the original basis of the MREW National Course, which Mike also instructed upon, going on to then organise and co-ordinate the National Course itself for a number of years.
Mike has also lent his considerable experience to helping with past Irish Mountain Rescue Association Party Leader weekend Training Courses.
