Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

8th November 2013

On Wednesday 18th September 2013, we announced that Clevelands Preparatory School, Chorley New Road, Bolton, had very kindly decided to adopt us as their supported charity.

On the morning of Wednesday 2nd October 2013, Team Call Out list member Nigel Booth, who is also our Equipment Officer (Medical), attended the school, along with our Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicle ‘BM3,’ to address the entire morning assembly about the work of the team.

This afternoon, the team undertook a further visit, this time to visit the pupils of the Reception Class, the Nursery Class, Year 1 and Year 5 pupils, from 13.00hrs, even staying on to see some of their parents, up to leaving the school at 16.00hrs.

This time Team Call Out list members Naomi Horan, Matthew Hailwood, Paul Copley and Support Group member Iain Clarkson, all joined Nigel Booth on this our second visit, taking along this time two of our Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles, radio call signs Bolton Mobile 2 and 3.

Much interest was shown by the children, teachers and their parents.

The team is very honoured to be chosen as the beneficiary of the charity fundraising of Clevelands Preparatory School.

The following report on the visit is by Paul Copley;

“This time two team vehicles and kit were on display.”

“Years 5, Year 1, Reception and Nursery classes came out to look at the vehicles and equipment demonstrations of our stretcher and vacuum splints.”

“All the children then assisted us with a stretcher carry, even the tiny children from the Nursery who together joined us to carry Miss Hunter around the playground.”

“The team then stayed on at school to show team vehicles and kit to parents picking up their children from school.”

“Bolton MRT would like to thanks Mrs Michelle Latham and all the staff and children for for making us most welcome and for the fantastic enthusiasm of the children who attend the school during our visit.”
