Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

25th April 2013

At 19.04hrs this fine evening we were paged by NWAS (Manchester) EOC Parkway, to assist at an incident in Lilford Woods, Leigh (An area we regularly attend both for missing persons and rescues)

Our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE immediately contacted NWAS (Manchester) EOC to obtain further details, whilst our Deputy Team Leader Geoff Seddon paged out at 19.07hrs to co-ordinate our responding team vehicle drivers.

As Garry was obtaining more information, it was ascertained by the responding NWAS Response Vehicle that the incident was more accessible than initially reported, and the team was stood down by pager at 19.09hrs.

By this time, only five minutes from the initial call, our first team member; Michael O’Brien, who is locally resident, was nearing Lilford Park main entrance.

This is recorded here for information only, and does not feature in our ‘Incident Listings.’
