Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

27th March 2013

On Wednesday 13th March 2013, we reported on twenty two team members taking part in the written examination for their MREW Mountain Rescue Casualty Care Course, the culmination of many months of training and study, held within the teams training programme.

Eighteen team members passed this exacting written paper, with retakes for the four who did not reach the pass mark already scheduled.

This evening, twenty one team members (From the 22x who had sat their written paper) took their final examination under the MREW Mountain Rescue Casualty Care Course, namely the two part Medical and Trauma Scenario tests, which constitute both practical and oral aspects.

We are very happy to report that all twenty one team members who took their examinations tonight, successfully passed, so at present we have eighteen team members who are the proud new recipients of the MREW Mountain Rescue Casualty Care Course Certificate, which is valid for three years.

In May 2013, all remaining team members will take their written and practical examinations.

The team would like to express its sincere thanks to Doctor Matt Orr, a GP from South Lancashire, who freely gave up all his evening to conduct his thorough assessments of our members taking their examinations tonight.

Doctor Matt Orr has also kindly assisted our colleagues at Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team with their MREW Mountain Rescue Casualty Care Course.
