Today our specialist Mountain Rescue Trailing Dog Boris and his handler Steve Nelson, assisted by our Training Officer Elaine Gilliland (who acted as their navigator), were called out today to assist Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team with a search for a missing person in the Burscough area.

Karen Simpson, aged 31, had been reported missing from her home in Burscough on Sunday 24th February, and with Police concern for her welfare a search was launched by Lancashire Constabulary who had called on the services of our neighbouring team Bowland Pennine MRT to assist in the search. In turn Bowland Pennine MRT had called on the specialist services of Steve and Boris.

The days intensive search concluded with Police enquiries continuing in an attempt to find Karen Simpson.
