Today team member Diane Blakeley attended the Rotary Club of Boltons Daybreak meeting. Here follows an acount of the morning written by Diane:
Early this morning I attended the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak at the Britannia Hotel, Bolton. The Club are valued supporters of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, they regularly invite the team to talk about our work and make generous donations. I gave the most recent talk two years ago, so it was nice to meet up with some old friends this morning. This time I was not the speaker that was Michelle Clarke from Bolton Carers who gave a very interesting talk about the work that this organisation does to support the thousands of people across Bolton who find themselves being full time carers for family members.
My role today was instead to have the great pleasure of accepting the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak Community Service Award on behalf of Bolton Mountain Rescue Team. The award is presented each year in recognition of service provided to others. I was presented with a Rose Bowl which we have the pleasure of displaying in our Ladybridge Hall Base by President Peter Jones. We also received a certificate and a wonderful donation of £250.
All the team would like to thank all the members for this fantastic recognition of our work and their continued support. It is planned that in the Autumn they will come to visit our base to see more about the work we do.
