Whilst providing standby rescue cover at the Greater Manchester Schools Cross country Championships Event today, team members responded to the report of a collapsed 13 year old male competitor in one of the eight runs taking place today. (See below website ‘News’ report)
The boy was reported collapsed at 12.06hrs and team members were quickly on scene to access and aid him, including administering oxygen.
As a precaution an NWAS Emergency Ambulance was requested, (Whitefield Ambulance station based / NWAS Greater Manchester) but upon its arrival and further examination, the young boy had recovered and by agreement was left in the care of his parents.
