At 15:17 hours this wet afternoon, Simon Lane, Team Leader of Cheshire Search and Rescue Team contacted directly our Team Leader, Garry Rhodes MBE, for the teams assistance with a search in the Warrington area.
Cheshire SRT had been mobilised by Cheshire Constabulary to the developing search for a missing male, in circumstances giving cause for his well being.
By 15:26 hours the requirement for Bolton MRT to assist was confirmed and some initial phone calls were made to call the team out.
A full team pager callout was made at 15:48 hours for our team members to assemble at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ for a scheduled 17:30 departure for the Warrington area.
Our SAR Boat and Mountain Rescue Trailing Dog, Boris, and his handler Steve Nelson (SARDA Wales) were specifically requested.
By our intended Base / HQ departure time of 17:30 hours 20 x full team callout members had assembled at our base / HQ when we received the information to stand down from the Cheshire SRT Team Leader.
Cheshire SRT had deployed into some specific search areas which as the initial stages of the search developed did not warrant our involvement.
At least 10 further team callout list members including Trailing Search Dog Handler Steve Nelson were stood down responding directly to the RVP or our base.
UPDATE: At 18:35 hours our Team Leader, Garry Rhodes MBE, was contacted by Cheshire SRT with the news the man had been located safe and well by police officers.
