This afternoon, our Team Secretary and Support Group member Gillian Gregory, was delighted to visit Edwina and Tony Freeman at their home in Bolton, to receive a marvellous donation to the team of £273.00.

This very generous amount was raised at their Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebrations at Ridgmont House, Horwich, on 27th October when they asked guests for donations in lieu of gifts to either Bolton Mountain Rescue Team or Parkinsons UK. Their actual anniversary date was 31st October, also the date of Edwina’s birthday, and with Tony also celebrating his 75th birthday on 23rd October, it was very much a combined ’in-between’ party!

They kindly chose Bolton Mountain Rescue Team as Edwina is a keen walker and climber herself, and when Tony was working as an Ambulance man he had dealings with simulated first aid make-up for team training exercises, and knew some of the team members at that time.

So from all the team membership, a huge thank you, Edwina & Tony, for your kindness in nominating Bolton Mountain Rescue Team to your guests, and many thanks for the generosity of your guests in donating £273.00 to us.
