Today team member Steve Fletcher attended a meeting of the Greater Manchester Local Resilience Forum Telecomms sub-group, which was hosted at Greater Manchester Police’s headquarters at Harpurhey, Manchester.

The group has recently been re-formed to discuss “telecommunications in emergencies”.

Organisations represented at this second meeting of the TSG were BT Openreach, Greater Manchester Police, North West Ambulance Service, Electricity North West, AGMA Civil Contingencies and Resiliency Unit, and Manchester RAYNET.

In his capacity of Equipment Officer (Comms & Lighting), team member Steve Fletcher represented Mountain Rescue teams operating within Greater Manchester.

The group will continue to meet over the coming months with a mandate to discuss the plans for emergency telecommunications within Greater Manchester.
