Over the course of this week end, Dave Marsh journeyed to Bury St. Edmunds acting as an assessor on behalf of National Search and Rescue Dog Association [NSARDA].

Dave Marsh is a former SARDA (England) Air Scenting Dog Handler, and is currently training his new dog, Sasha, to be a Drowned Victim Search Dog.

There, he met up with members of NSARDA Anglia, who were the hosting association. Over the course of the two days, both himself and Harold Burrows [NSARDA Chairman] assessed a number of dogs in different lowland settings, from fields, to thick woodland. It was pleasing to note that some dogs and handlers retained their operational certificates, with new partnerships being successful also.

It can be noted the hospitality was, as always, very warm, as opposed to the very cold, wet and inclement weather over the weekend.

As a side note, Dave met up with Paul Chamberlain [Chair of Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue Team] and was able to hand over two vacuum mattresses which have been superseded in the Bolton MRT by newer replacements, and were surplus to our requirements. (See separate news report)
