Meeting this sunny morning at 10.30hrs at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ, a small number of team members then departed for some rope work training in the valley of Bradshaw Brook, Bradshaw, Bolton.
Taking place on the steep rocky ‘craglets’ near to ‘The Stables,’ our six team members present consisted of Equipment Officer – Ropes and Stretchers Mike O’Brien, Martin Battersby, Chris Weatherhead, Kris Kilshaw, Chairman Craig Lamb and Probationary Team member Gary Melia, with Nigel Booth, our Equipment Officer – Medical, kindly lending his considerable technical rope rescue skills to the benefit of those present.
Utilising equipment on our attending Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance call sign ‘Bolton Mobile 2,’ the six present covered personal belay set up, the use of Pro Allps, safety backups, multi point belays, lowering and raising systems.
By mid afternoon this training session was complete.
Those present would like to thank former long serving team call out list member Gyles Denn for kindly assisting with todays training, and alongside Nigel, also lending his expertise to better the rope work knowledge of those attending.
