Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

18th July 2012

On the evening of Tuesday 12th June 2012 (see website ‘news’ report dated the same) the team held a very special presentation event at which twenty eight current team members and one former team member received their Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal 1952 – 2012.

The Queen to mark her Diamond Jubilee, has awarded this medal to all in the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and Prison Service, who at February this year had completed five years service in their respective organisations.

This follows a similar medal, issued to the Armed Services and Emergency Services, in 2002, the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal 1952 – 2002. (Which was also awarded to some of our members at the time)

Our President Bob Hutchinson suggested at the presentation evening, that all twenty nine persons receiving the medal should also receive a medal ribbon bar as well to mark their service.

This evening prior to our routine training commencing, all eligible members were honoured to receive from the team their medal ribbon bars, some with the ribbon of the previously awarded Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal 1952-2002 also on the ribbon bar and a few with other relevant awarded medal ribbons.
