SUPPORT GROUP

Our Support Group play a key role for the team by raising money and increasing the awareness of the team and the work we do across our operational patch.

It is made up of around 15 volunteers who attend events such as supermarket collections, village fairs or school open days.  The  team also manage around 100 collection tins in the local area.

In addition to raising funds for the team, there’s sometimes a need to help run the catering trailer to support the operational team on longer search and rescue call outs.

It’s very rewarding volunteering for the support group and giving something back to your local community.

Supermarket collections

The team raise funds at approximately one supermarket collection a month.  Supermarkets are an excellent opportunity to talk to the public about the work that we are involved with and also raise vital funds for the team.

Fairs and festivals

Throughout the year, the team participates in many village festival fairs.  You may see the support group running competitions on our stand or even hosting a tombola. These events are vital for raising the profile of the team and the work that we do across our patch.

Collection tins

The support group manage approximately 100 collection tins across our patch, while these only collect loose change, they do account for raising almost £4,000 per annum. If you run a businesses and think you will be able to take one of our tins, please contact our Fundraising Officer on FO@BoltonMRT.org.uk
